Resoomer and Cognitive Overload: How Can You Use It to Read More Effectively?

Useful Tips

Sometimes the difficulty with a text has nothing to do with the level of understanding. It is not that the text is too difficult. It is that it is too long, too dense, too intimidating. Or that the brain, on that particular day, is simply not available to face it.

This is what is called cognitive load : the limit beyond which the mind becomes saturated, disengages, and avoids.

Resoomer was designed to act precisely at that moment.

If you struggle to get into a long text

Start with Text analysis mode. Do not read, scan. Let the highlights guide you toward the passages that really matter. Once you have an overview, the text becomes less intimidating. You can then decide to read it in full, or switch to Assisted mode to get a clear summary.

The goal is not to read everything. It is to understand.

If you have ADHD

The length of a text is often the first obstacle, not its content. First reduce it in Manual mode until it reaches a size that feels manageable. Then use the Text Reader to listen instead of read. The real-time highlighting of the sentence being read helps you stay anchored in the text without losing track. If your attention drifts, click on the sentence where you stopped and resume from there.

If you are dyslexic

The Text Reader is your main ally. Combine it with the Summarizer to first reduce the volume of the text, then listen to the result at the speed and with the voice that suit you best. You can adjust the pitch and pace to find the rhythm that makes listening easier for you. Less text on the screen, more understanding through listening.

If you are overwhelmed by a large volume of documents

Do not try to read everything. Use Optimized mode with your priority keywords to filter each document and extract only what is relevant to you. Process your documents one after another, in just a few clicks. What seemed overwhelming becomes a stack you move through methodically, without drowning in it.

If anxiety about a document is paralyzing you

Start with Assisted mode. First get a clear and reassuring overview of the content. Knowing what a document contains before reading it in full significantly reduces apprehension. You are no longer facing the unknown, you know where you are going.

Resoomer does not ask you to change the way you read. It adapts to it.
