How do you handle a document in a foreign language?

Useful Tips

Reading in a foreign language is already an effort. Reading a long, dense, technical document in a foreign language is a double effort. You have to understand the content and decode the form at the same time. One exhausts the other.

Resoomer allows you to separate these two levels of difficulty — and deal with them one after the other.

Step 1 — Reduce before translating

Never translate a long document in full right away. Start by summarizing it in Assisted or Automatic mode in its original language. You reduce the volume by 60 to 80% before even translating anything. Less text to translate means fewer potential errors, less time wasted, and a more readable final result.

Step 2 — Translate into your language with the right register

Send your summary into the Translator. Choose your target language and select the style that matches your use case — Academic if you are preparing university work, Professional if it is for a work context, Standard if you simply want to understand. Resoomer does not give you a mechanical translation. It gives you a translation adapted to your intent.

Step 3 — Refine the wording that sounds off

A translation, even a good one, sometimes produces sentences that do not sound natural in the target language. Click on the sentences that feel awkward to you and use the Paraphraser to rewrite them in the style that suits you. You correct the register without changing the meaning. The final result sounds as if you had written it yourself.

Step 4 — Listen instead of rereading

If you struggle to assess the fluency of a text in a language that is not your own, run your translation through the Text Reader. Hearing the text read aloud immediately reveals awkward wording, sentences that are too long, and passages that need reworking. The ear detects what the eye no longer sees.

Step 5 — Finalize and export

Open your translated and refined text in the Editor to format it. Correct any remaining errors with the Spell Checker. Export as PDF or DOCX depending on your needs.

This complete workflow — summarize, translate, refine, listen, export — takes place entirely within Resoomer, without changing tools, without copy-pasting between several platforms. In 66 languages, for any type of document.

Because language should never be an obstacle to understanding.
